Welcome to Rapawze Dog Groomer! We’re thrilled to provide professional grooming services for your beloved pets. These Terms and Conditions outline the policies and procedures that help us maintain the highest standards of care and service for every furry client who comes through our doors.

By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to these terms. We’ve written them in plain language because we believe transparency builds trust—and trust is the foundation of every great relationship between pet parents and groomers.

Appointment Scheduling and Cancellations

Booking Your Appointment

We accept appointments by phone, through our website, or in person at our grooming salon. When you schedule a service, we’ll discuss your pet’s specific needs, any special requests, and provide an estimated time for completion and pickup.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens—sometimes you need to reschedule. We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer that time slot to another pet in need of grooming.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled service cost. No-shows without any notification will be charged the full service amount. These policies help us maintain fair scheduling for all our clients and compensate our professional groomers for reserved time.

Service Pricing and Payment

Pricing

Our service prices are based on your dog’s size, breed, coat condition, temperament, and the specific services requested. We provide estimates before beginning any service, but the final price may vary if we discover matting, excessive shedding, or other conditions requiring additional time and care.

Payment Methods

We accept cash, all major credit cards, and digital payment methods. Payment is due at the time services are rendered, before your pet is released to go home with you.

Additional Charges

Extra fees may apply for severely matted coats, fleas or ticks, aggressive behavior requiring special handling, or services that take significantly longer than anticipated due to your pet’s condition or cooperation level.

Health and Safety Requirements

Vaccination Records

For the safety of all pets in our care, we require current vaccinations for rabies, distemper, and bordetella (kennel cough). Please provide proof of vaccination before your first appointment. We maintain these records on file, but please notify us when your pet receives booster shots.

Health Conditions

Please inform us of any health issues, medications, allergies, injuries, or special needs your dog may have before their appointment. This includes seizure disorders, heart conditions, joint problems, skin sensitivities, or anxiety issues. Our groomers are experienced professionals, but we need complete information to provide the safest, most comfortable experience for your pet.

Parasite Policy

If we discover fleas, ticks, or other parasites during grooming, we reserve the right to treat your pet with appropriate products and add the corresponding fee to your service total. This protects other pets visiting our salon and ensures your dog goes home pest-free.

Age and Pregnancy

We groom puppies as young as 12 weeks old (with completed vaccination series) and provide gentle services for senior dogs with special needs. We do not recommend grooming pregnant dogs within two weeks of their due date without veterinary approval.

Liability and Pet Safety

Standard of Care

Rapawze Dog Groomer takes every precaution to ensure your pet’s safety and wellbeing. Our experienced groomers use professional equipment and techniques, and we maintain a clean, secure environment. However, grooming does involve some inherent risks.

Pre-existing Conditions

We will not be held liable for pre-existing conditions that are discovered or become apparent during or after grooming, including skin conditions, matting-related injuries, ear infections, or other health issues that were present before services began.

Grooming-Related Risks

While extremely rare when proper techniques are used, potential risks of grooming include minor nicks or cuts (particularly on thin-skinned areas), clipper irritation on sensitive skin, stress in anxious pets, or reactions to grooming products. We use high-quality, pet-safe products and professional techniques to minimize these risks.

Matting Liability

Severely matted coats can cause various complications when removed, including skin irritation, small cuts, or pre-existing skin conditions hidden beneath the mats. When matting is tight against the skin, we must shave closely to remove it safely—this may result in a shorter cut than you expected. We always recommend regular grooming to prevent painful matting.

Veterinary Care

If your pet becomes ill or injured during grooming and requires veterinary attention, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If we cannot reach you and the situation is urgent, we will seek emergency veterinary care on your behalf. You agree to reimburse Rapawze Dog Groomer for any veterinary expenses incurred, and we will not be held liable for the cost of such treatment.

Aggressive Behavior

The safety of our grooming team is paramount. If your pet displays aggressive behavior that poses a risk to our staff, we reserve the right to refuse service, stop the grooming session, or muzzle your pet for everyone’s protection. In cases of extreme aggression, we may recommend a veterinary groomer who can provide sedation.

Service Expectations and Results

Breed-Specific Cuts

We’re experienced in breed-standard grooming styles and happy to work with photos or descriptions you provide. However, the final result depends on your dog’s coat type, condition, and individual characteristics. What works beautifully on one dog may not be achievable on another.

Coat Condition

Regular grooming every 4-8 weeks (depending on breed and coat type) produces the best results. Pets who come in less frequently may have matting or coat damage that limits styling options. We’ll always discuss the best approach for your dog’s current condition.

Drying and Settling

Your dog’s coat may appear slightly different once it’s completely dry and has “settled” over the next day or two. This is completely normal, especially for breeds with thick or curly coats.

Pickup and Late Fees

Pickup Times

We’ll provide an estimated completion time when you drop off your pet. Please pick up your dog within 30 minutes of our call notifying you they’re ready. Our grooming stations need to be available for the next scheduled appointments.

Late Pickup Fees

If your pet remains in our care more than one hour past the agreed pickup time, a boarding fee of $15 per hour will be applied. We care for your pet with food, water, and comfort during this time, but extended stays impact our scheduling and operations.

Abandoned Pets

If a pet is not picked up within 48 hours of the scheduled pickup time and we cannot reach you by phone or emergency contact, we will follow local ordinances regarding abandoned animals, which may include surrendering the pet to local animal control authorities.

Privacy and Information Use

We collect and maintain information about you and your pet, including contact details, veterinary information, grooming preferences, and health notes. This information is kept confidential and used solely to provide quality service to you and your pet.

We may take before and after photos of our grooming work for our portfolio, social media, or marketing materials. If you prefer your pet’s photos not be shared publicly, please let us know in writing and we’ll honor that request.

Changes to Services or Policies

Rapawze Dog Groomer reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and in our salon with the effective date noted. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

We also reserve the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason, including but not limited to aggressive behavior, failure to pay, disregard for our policies, or abusive treatment of our staff.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rapawze Dog Groomer’s liability for any claims arising from grooming services shall not exceed the amount paid for the services in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California and Solano County. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be resolved in the appropriate courts of Solano County.
